About
Caregiving Done Better
Why We Care
When Audrey Jackson was in college, her grandparents, living a state away in Tennessee, came to need in home caregivers. Audrey’s parents tried to hire reputable people and friends-of-friends instead of using an agency. Unfortunately, the caregivers were less than desirable, untrained, and dishonest. Audrey’s great aunt and mother had to spend a considerable amount of time trying to find the right caregivers. Audrey’s mother also eventually moved to Tennessee to oversee the caregivers to ensure that her grandparents received the care they needed. Audrey’s life was indelibly colored by the experience. Knowing the importance of a trustworthy caregiver, she became one herself. After working for two other agencies, Audrey opened Southern Homecare. She knows that caregiving can be done better, and she is leading the way.
How We Work
After the consultation process, your loved one will receive their first visit from Audrey herself. She gets to know you and your loved one, and she will return on the second visit with the caregiver she has matched with your loved one. It is incredibly important for your loved one to have a personality match with their caregiver. If there’s a mismatch, we will continue to look for a great fit. Get to know our staff.
Our Caregivers
During the hiring process, candidates receive thorough national fingerprint criminal background checks (with no marks allowed), 10-panel drug and alcohol screenings, tuberculosis testing, and flu shots.
Payment Options
Home care is covered by long term care insurance. Other plans may be reimbursable. Talk to Southern Homecare about care coverage by requesting a consultation.
